Work out exactly how much a pip is worth in your deposit currency, based on your real trade size — essential for setting accurate stop-loss and take-profit levels in real money terms, not just price points. Supports forex, gold, silver, and major cryptocurrencies with live pricing.
A pip is the standard unit of price movement in forex — usually the fourth decimal place for most pairs, or the second decimal place for pairs involving the Japanese Yen.
A pipette is one-tenth of a pip — a fifth decimal place on most pairs, or a third decimal place on JPY pairs. Brokers introduced pipettes to quote tighter, more precise bid and ask spreads than a whole pip allows. If EUR/USD moves from 1.08453 to 1.08461, that's a genuine 0.8 pip move — the extra digit is the pipette.
Pip value depends on the pip size, your trade size (lot), and the current exchange rate — this calculator works it out automatically using live prices, converted into your deposit currency.
Pip value = (pip size ÷ current exchange rate) × trade size in units. For a standard 100,000-unit lot on GBP/USD at 1.3630, that's (0.0001 ÷ 1) × 100,000 = $10 per pip, since USD is the quote currency here. If your account is denominated in a different currency, divide that result by the exchange rate between USD and your account currency to convert it.
Yes — gold, silver, platinum, and palladium are all supported, each using its own correct pip-size convention (0.1 for gold, 0.01 for silver), not the standard forex 0.0001. Search "XAUUSD pip calculator" or "gold pip calculator" and you'll land on exactly this same tool.
Yes — 61 major cryptocurrencies are supported, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, each priced live from real market data, not estimated.
Yes — the underlying pip-value math is identical whether you're trading spot forex or CFDs on the same pair, since both track the same real underlying price movement.
This isn't an MT4/MT5 plugin, but the numbers it gives you — pip value per lot in your real account currency — are exactly what you'd manually enter or verify against inside MetaTrader when sizing a position, so it works well as a quick companion calculation alongside either platform.
Enter your lot size, then type the number of pips into the calculator's Pips field — it multiplies that against the live pip value instantly, so you can see the real dollar impact of a 20-pip stop loss or a 50-pip take-profit target before you place the trade.
They're related but genuinely different: pip value tells you how much each pip of price movement is worth in real money, while margin is the amount your broker requires you to hold to open a leveraged position at all. This calculator focuses specifically on pip value — for margin requirements, check your specific broker's leverage terms, since these vary by broker and account type.
Yes — all 7 major pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, USD/CAD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD) are included, along with 73 additional cross and exotic pairs, for 80 forex pairs in total.
Not yet — this calculator currently covers forex, metals, and crypto. Index CFD support is a genuine gap we're aware of and may add in the future, so for now, NAS100 and US30 pip values would need to be checked directly with your broker's contract specifications.
