Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information DeskTerminal collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. We built this to be genuinely accurate to how the site actually works — not generic boilerplate.
1. Who we are
DeskTerminal ("we," "us," "our") operates deskterminal.com, a financial markets platform offering live prices, charts, calculators, an economic calendar, news, and educational content. For any privacy questions, contact us at deskterminalfx@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information — if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider.
- Contact form submissions — if you use our Contact page, we collect the name, email, and message you provide.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Country — detected automatically from your IP address the first time you log in, used only to populate your profile's Country field. We do not separately store your raw IP address.
- Watchlist and Favorites — the instruments and content you choose to save, tied to your account.
- Account activity — when your account was created and when you last logged in.
- Session data — our login system stores a session token in your browser so you stay logged in between visits. This is standard, required behavior for any login system and is managed by our authentication provider, Supabase.
2.3 What we do NOT collect
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data to anyone, ever. We do not run analytics scripts that build an advertising profile of you.
3. How we use your information
- To let you log in and maintain your account, watchlist, and favorites
- To respond to messages sent through our Contact page
- To operate core site features (live prices, DeskAi responses, calculators) — these do not require your personal account data to function
- To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse
4. Third-party services we use
DeskTerminal is built on several third-party services, each with their own privacy practices. We chose established, reputable providers, but we encourage you to review their policies directly for full detail:

5. Data privacy and security
Your account data — including your profile, watchlist, and favorites — is protected using Row Level Security at the database level. In practice, this means the system itself is built so that only you can ever access your own data, even in the event of a technical error elsewhere in the application.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access — you can view your profile information, including your watchlist and favorites, at any time by logging in and opening your profile.
- Deletion — to request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at deskterminalfx@gmail.com and we'll process your request.
- Sign out — you can sign out of your account at any time using the profile menu.
7. Children's privacy
DeskTerminal is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of DeskTerminal after changes means you accept the updated policy.
