WORK OUT PROFIT/LOSS AND SAFE POSITION SIZE BEFORE YOU TRADE

Trade details

Contract size auto-fills per instrument (Gold = 100 oz/lot, Silver = 5,000 oz/lot, Forex = 100,000 units/lot, Crypto = 1 coin/lot) — override if your broker differs. For USD-base pairs like USD/JPY or USD/PKR, P/L is converted to USD using the exit price. Cross pairs without USD (e.g. EUR/GBP) aren't supported yet.

Position Size & Risk Calculator

Proper position sizing is the core of forex risk management. This calculator works out the maximum lot size to trade based on your account balance, risk percentage, and stop-loss distance — so a stop-loss hit only costs the percentage of your account you choose, across forex, metals, and crypto.

How to calculate forex profit and lot size

Forex profit is calculated as the price movement multiplied by your position size in units, then converted to your account currency. For USD-quoted pairs like EUR/USD or GBP/USD, this is straightforward. For USD-base pairs like USD/JPY or USD/PKR, and cross pairs like EUR/GBP that don't involve USD directly, an extra currency conversion step is needed — this calculator handles that conversion automatically using live exchange rates.
